Port Credit is a community that is rich in history; the land has been in use since the aboriginal tribe Mississauga Ojibwa First Nations had settled there. As of 2005 Old Port Credit Village was assigned as a Heritage Conservation District. The Old Port Credit Village, which is on the East side of Port Credit, maintains the historical architecture as well as the original street names.
Port Credit consists of three main areas, Cranberry Cove, Old Port Credit Village and Port Credit Village. Port Credit is truly a beautiful community to live in.
