Rathwood is one of the older areas of Mississauga, houses being built as far back as 45 years ago, though there is a combination of homes to be found here. The newer homes are found in Hickory Village, with newer custom homes along Hickory Drive. Rathwood as a whole consists of a blend of semi detached, detached homes (small and large), along with Executive Town Homes. The smaller semi detached and detached homes are a wonderful opportunity for first time homebuyers to enter the market.

The Executive Town Homes located in the Hickory Village, allow for new homebuyers to buy in the area and obtain a more modern home in comparison to other areas of Rathwood. Those buying here will notice the homes are well taken care of, however, due to their age are in need of upgrading and renovations in some cases to bring the home up to date.

These are the schools located within the Rathwood location, they are a combination of both Catholic and Public schools.
